The Super Antarctic White 3.6.9 is a 38 mm Swiss automatic watch that reinterprets Nivada Grenchen's 1950s Antarctic heritage with a matt white dial and bold Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9. The original Antarctic watches were worn during the U.S. Navy's Deep Freeze I expedition, and proved their strength in extreme polar conditions.
The solid white dial combines shiny black applied indexes, luminous material and black printing for a clean, vintage-inspired look that stays easy to read. On the back, the caseback carries the International Geophysical medallion, a gold medallion that echoes the mid-century precision of the original. The 316 stainless steel case is polished and satin-brushed, 38 mm wide and 12 mm thick, under a double-domed sapphire crystal.
The automatic Soprod P024 movement, in its no-date version, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour on 25 jewels and offers a 38-hour power reserve. The watch is offered on racing leather, plain or stitched leather, rubber, the flat link bracelet or the beads of rice bracelet, all 20x16 mm.
