The Autochron Revival
Step back into the 1970s with the revived Autochron by Nivada Grenchen. Originally produced in extremely limited numbers, this rare chronograph has become a true collector’s piece. Faithfully reinterpreted for today, the Autochron preserves its vintage character while embracing modern craftsmanship, just the way we like it.

The Original Autochron Prototype of the 1970s
There is a lot of talk now about ‘prototype’ watches. We are, however, very happy to sell this as a genuine test piece by Nivada in as-new condition ( only a few tiny hairline scratches from storage !) it has never been worn.
We believe that these watches were made in only around 20 examples and were never commercially available. To us, the most interesting element of this watch is the singer dial that shares some of the details of the Rolex Daytona.
The lume on the dial and hands has taken on a stunning, rich patina. Additionally the watch features a bi-directional rotating bezel, date feature and red depth rating. The steel bracelet is in outstanding condition.
This watch is in completely untouched condition and we have decided to not even open this time capsule. The watch is running fine, but for everyday wear a service might be recommended.

A Quartz Watch with a Mechanical Feel
This updated edition of the Nivada Grenchen Autochron features striking salmon and yellow Art Deco-style subdials set against a textured black dial, creating depth and strong visual contrast. The bidirectional fluted aluminum bezel, accented with a yellow marker at 12 o’clock, stays true to the original 1970s design.
A tachymeter scale integrated into the bezel allows speed measurement over a fixed distance, reinforcing the Autochron’s racing heritage while balancing functional performance with refined vintage aesthetics.

VK67 Meca-Quartz Movement
The Autochron Mecaquartz is powered by the VK67 meca-quartz movement, combining quartz accuracy with the smooth sweep of a mechanical chronograph hand. This hybrid construction pairs quartz timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module, delivering precision with a traditional watchmaking feel.
With a three-year battery life, the Autochron Meca-Quartz is available with leather, steel, or rubber strap options, offering versatility and reliability in a Swiss-designed chronograph.

SIZE GUIDE HYBRID

Tachymeter Scale
How Does It Work?
Start: When the object or vehicle starts moving, start the chronograph.
Stop: Stop the chronograph after the object or vehicle has traveled a known distance (1 km or 1 mile).
Reading the Speed: Read the average speed directly on the tachymeter scale where the second hand has stopped. For example, if a car travels one kilometer in 30 seconds, the second hand will stop at the 120 mark on the tachymeter scale, indicating an average speed of 120 km/h.
