The Tachymeter Scale: A Primer

Start: When the object or vehicle begins to move, start the chronograph.
Stop: Stop the chronograph after the object or vehicle has traveled a known distance (1 km or 1 mile).
Read the Speed: Read the average speed directly on the tachymeter scale where the chronograph second hand has stopped.

For example, if the car travels one kilometer in 30 seconds, the second hand will stop at the 120 mark on the tachymeter scale, indicating an average speed of 120 km/h.

The new Chronomaster from Nivada Grenchen will be available officially launched on September 19th, and every watch will come with five interchangeable bezels that can be easily swapped without the need for any tools.

A classic reborn

The Broad Arrow dial's reappearance in the Chronomaster collection marks a significant event in vintage watch circles. Reviving the cherished Landeron 70 movement design, this reissue captures the essence of its predecessor with meticulous attention to detail. The dial features a classic matte black color with cream-colored luminous indexes that enhance both style and readability. Shiny silver hands, filled with cream lume, ensure visibility in low light conditions, while the sub-dials, also in shiny silver, accommodate chronograph functions, including a seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock and a 30 minute counter at 3 o’clock. Mechanical Movement

Another new feature is that Nivada Grenchen’s Chronomaster models are now equipped with a Landeron movement, a nod to the brand’s history. Landeron, once a historic supplier of movements for Nivada, regains its rightful place in these new editions. This return to roots is highlighted by the integration of a sapphire caseback, allowing wearers to admire the mechanism in action.
