DISCOVER THE WATCHES IN 3D

The Antarctic Erotic is a 38 mm Swiss hand-wound watch with a secret on the back. From the front it reads as a classic Antarctic. Turn it over and wind the crown: through the flat sapphire caseback, a penguin animation comes to life. It moves only while you wind and stops when you stop. No battery, no motor.

It is a playful erotic watch for collectors who like their complication kept private, built on the 38 mm Antarctic platform introduced in the 1950s.

Antarctic Erotic dials and specifications

Every model uses a modified Soprod P054 hand-wound movement with a cam system that turns the winding into the animation. The 316L stainless steel case sits under double-domed sapphire and is water resistant to 10 ATM / 100 m.

  • Black: matt black dial, applied indexes with white Super-LumiNova.
  • Brown: warm brown matt dial with beige Super-LumiNova.
  • Eggshell: domed matt dial, silver applied indexes, flamed blue seconds hand.
  • Salmon: sunray brushed dial with a metallic finish.
  • Tuxedo: two-tone silver dial, the only version with a date.
  • Gold: 18K yellow gold-plated case, domed white dial, gold applied indexes.

Antarctic Erotic FAQ

How does the hidden caseback animation work?

A cam system inside the modified Soprod P054 converts the winding of the crown into a mechanical penguin animation. It is visible only through the sapphire caseback and stops as soon as you stop winding.

Where does the penguin come from?

Nivada Grenchen registered the penguin emblem as a patent in 1965, and it was engraved on the casebacks of vintage Antarctic models. The Antarctic Erotic redraws it from that archival patent.

Is the Antarctic Erotic an automatic watch?

No. It is hand-wound, and that is what drives the animation: winding the crown powers the movement and sets the scene in motion at the same time.
