Beneath a double-domed sapphire crystal, discover a superb gray or black dial with 8 spider legs in full weave. Eight indexes are applied vertically on a sunray silver or black dial, connected (literally) by 8 lines –that look like spider legs, hence the watch’s sobriquet – converging at the center of the dial.

The Antarctic Spider features a 35mm diameter polished and brushed silver stainless steel case and is 11.1mm thick. Its dial is topped with a sapphire crystal nearly as hard as diamond, protecting it from everyday bumps and scratches. Water-resistant up to 50 meters, or 5 atmospheres. At the 3 o’clock index, there is a date window and the brand’s signature at 9 o’clock.

A Superstar model with the strangest dial

Beneath a domed double-domed sapphire crystal, a superb salmon-hued dial and 8 slim baton indexes applied vertically, connected by 8 lines converging at the center. The term used to designate this particular iteration of the Antarctic is not a cryptic sobriquet coined by collectors: it literally jumps at you the second you lay eyes on the ‘spider’ squarely sitting on the dial. An inspired design, sophisticated, eccentric, graphic, polarizing and eye-catching – that, and the salmon dial, is what makes this reissue so charming. There's nothing like it. The name says it all, no need to draw a picture – the conversation starts all by itself.

The Antarctic Spider comes in a polished and brushed silver stainless steel case, 35mm in diameter and 10.1 mm thick. The dial is topped by a double-domed sapphire crystal, almost as resistant as diamond, protecting it from everyday shocks and scratches. Water-resistant to 50 meters . At 3 o'clock, the date window; at 9 o'clock, the brand signature. And at the heart, a Swiss-made, manual-winding Landeron 21 movement brings the timepiece's hands to life. The Antarctic Spider is available with ten different straps, each with a silvered buckle.

Art-Deco Sector Dial

The dial is probably one of the most daring & quirky designs ever attempted by Nivada Grenchen past or present. Featuring eight vertically applied indexes on a silver sun-ray brushed dial, what (literally) connects it all together is the eight “spider legs” that stem from the indexes to the center of the dial. Complemented with super-lumed up “Dauphine” hands you’ll be turning heads left right and center with the Spider.

Antarctic Origins

Some of the most acute-eyed may have seen the case resemblance to the Super Antarctic collection - this is mostly because both use the same case. The Antarctic Spider stems from a crazy variation that Nivada produced in the 70's. Our current design stems from one of our devout followers who sent in pictures of his original Antarctic Spider through Instagram. We only had to take one look at the pictures before we were hyped up to re-release this unique model!

Vintage Model

The Antarctic Spider, inspired by the original 1950s design, features a striking gray sector dial and eight spider-leg-like indexes. This classic 35mm timepiece seamlessly blends vintage charm with modern sophistication, making it a timeless addition to any collection.
