STRAP

The F77 Chrono Mecaquartz Blue is a first, not a re-edition, but an entirely new Swiss creation. Built around Nivada Grenchen's iconic 38mm F77 MK2 case, it pairs the signature blue woven dial with the VK64 hybrid mecaquartz chronograph movement, a double-domed sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and 10 ATM / 100m water resistance. Born from chronograph DNA. Designed to be worn every day.

This is not a re-edition. The Nivada Grenchen F77 Chrono Mecaquartz Blue Woven is the first F77 chronograph the brand has ever produced, a genuine new creation rooted in Nivada Grenchen's 1977 integrated-bracelet heritage and built for the demands of modern daily wear. The signature blue woven dial is the defining feature of the F77 line, and on the Chrono Mecaquartz it arrives in its most complete form. The woven carbon-look texture plays with light across the surface, while two snailed sub-registers, applied baton indexes and sword hands keep the layout clean and immediately legible. The riveted bezel and downward-sloping lugs stay true to the original 1977 silhouette, only now with chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock that complete the sport-chronograph attitude the case always suggested. The F77 Chrono Mecaquartz is built on a 38mm 316L stainless steel case with a lug-to-lug distance of 46.2mm and a 12.2mm case thickness. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces give the case its depth and finish quality. The compact proportions mean it sits flush and wears comfortably on a wide range of wrist sizes, a deliberate choice for a chronograph built to be used every day. Inside beats the VK64 mecaquartz caliber, a Japanese-engineered hybrid movement that combines quartz-accurate base timekeeping with a fully mechanical chronograph module. The result is a chronograph seconds hand that sweeps smoothly at 1/5-second intervals, paired with the crisp, positive start–stop–reset action of a mechanical pusher system. Battery life runs to approximately three years with zero winding or mainspring servicing required. It delivers the tactile pleasure of a mechanical chronograph with the reliability and low maintenance of quartz. A double-domed sapphire crystal with polished edges, a solid screw-down caseback and 10 ATM / 100m water resistance round out a Swiss sport chronograph engineered for daily use. The F77 Chrono Mecaquartz is available with an integrated 316L stainless steel bracelet (22×16mm), a canvas Velcro strap, or a black rubber strap, all designed to fit flush with the F77 MK2 case.

The Iconic Woven Dial, Now a Chronograph

The First F77 Chrono Mecaquartz

And now, the first Nivada Grenchen F77 Chrono Mecaquartz. The F77 has earned its place among the best Swiss sport watches of its generation, so giving it a chronograph complication was the natural next step. Because the F77 never existed as a chronograph before, this is not a re-edition but a ground-up new creation from Grenchen, Switzerland. The signature blue woven (basketweave) dial of the original 1977 F77 meets a compact 38 mm integrated case, twin registers and the hybrid VK64 mecaquartz caliber to deliver a daily-wear sport chronograph with rare character at its price.

Blue Woven Dial, Pure F77 DNA

The F77 Chrono Mecaquartz Blue Woven keeps the basketweave texture that made the original Nivada Grenchen F77 instantly recognisable. The blue woven dial plays with light across its raised grid, while two snailed chronograph subdials, applied baton indexes and polished hands maintain crisp legibility. The integrated 38 mm case in 316L stainless steel, riveted bezel and downward-sloping lugs stay true to the 1977 F77 silhouette, only now with crown-side chronograph pushers that underline its sport-chronograph character. A Swiss-made alternative to much pricier integrated-bracelet chronographs.

Hybrid Heart, Mechanical Feel

Inside beats the VK64 mecaquartz caliber, a Swiss hybrid movement that combines quartz timekeeping accuracy with a true mechanical chronograph module. The quartz base handles precision time reliably, while the mechanical module delivers the smooth-sweeping central seconds hand and satisfying start–stop–reset feel that distinguishes it from a standard quartz chronograph. Battery life is approximately three years with no winding needed, making it the practical choice for daily wear. For watch enthusiasts who want the sensation of a mechanical chronograph without the servicing demands, the VK64 mecaquartz is the benchmark hybrid caliber.
