The Inspiration for Our New Launch: Antarctic Diver Green
The Story Behind the Design
When Guillaume Laidet stumbled upon a vintage green dial at Cenic Watches, near Buren—just a stone's throw from Grenchen—it sparked an idea. The unique hue and timeless elegance of this dial immediately inspired the reissue of the Antarctic Diver Green, paying homage to its roots while infusing it with modern sophistication.
Another tribute to the original version is the handwritten-style logo: the "Antarctic Diver" label at six o'clock uses vintage typography that faithfully replicates the original, while "Nivada Automatic" in cursive letters at twelve o'clock stays true to the spirit of the original piece.
The case back is stamped with the signature emblem of the Antarctic collection: a penguin motif, an allegory of extreme cold and a nod to the collection’s name.
